My research field is about Material Re-use, Recycling and valorisation of alternative resources in the field of construction.
SOILS BEHAVIOUR STUDIES : FROM EXPERIMENTS TO MODELLING AND PARAMETERS IDENTIFICATION
Since a few years my main research topic is about studying soil behaviour throughout experimental investigation including development of original equipment to enhance the understanding of soil behaviour. Among the equipments developed: mini-pressio-Triax test, oedometer with lateral stress measurement, large oedometer cell for coarse materials, dewatering cell of fine materials, consolidometer, ...
In terms of modelling, models taking into-account anisotropy, destructuration, creep ... were used to explain the observed results on tests undertaken in laboratories and the impacts on modelling real structures
ALTERNATIVE MATERIALS VALORISATION IN CIVIL ENGINNERING FIELD
Since 15 years my principal research work is about the characterisation of alternative materials, modelling the mechanical behaviour, designing civil engineering materials. The background developed on studying standard materials is extended to study alternative materials. Depending on the alternative ressources contribution to the characterisation of this materails could be summarised as follow
- MSWI : development of large scale oedometer cell and specific procedure for the triaxial test.
- Fine sediments: Protocols for dewatering process, reconstitution of samples, optimisation of binders treatments, design of road materials, ...

ARTIFICIAL INTELIGENCE TO DESIGN CIVIL ENGINEERING MATERIALS
Artificial Intelligence is a powerful tool to model complex behaviour such design of construction materials. In this context few experiments are undertaken to design road materials , concretes, concret blocks, bricks .... using AI. The main obtained results confirm the ability of these methods (when the main parametres are well defined) to design cosntruction materials with well defined properties.
